“Sheppard!” Rodney hurried into the room. “Did you just touch that?”

“No.” John did his best to look wounded.

“I told you not to touch it, didn’t I? Didn’t I? On penalty of death, as I recall.”

“I vaguely remember something like that, yeah.”

“’Yeah’,” Rodney mocked. “Where? Where did you….?”

“I told you…”

“Oh, give me a break. I should have known… ah! There!” 

John was busted. He put on his most apologetic face. “Rodney, I swear.  I heard it calling my name!”

Rodney snorted. “What are you, delusional, or do you think that I am?”

“No comment. Think it’ll be all right?” John leaned over anxiously to look. “It’s not too bad. Maybe she won’t even notice.”

“There is no way she’s not going to notice,” Rodney whined. “And she’s going to be here any second.”

“Maybe we can distract her?”

“Distract her? Distract delph from her birthday cake? Are you a complete moron?”

“There’s got to be a way.”

“Oh, yes, right. Such as?”

“I know! If she walks into the room, and we’re in the middle of having sex….”

Rodney’s face lit up as he reached for John. “Yes! You totally should have been in Mensa!”
